Recent doctorul habilitat Tudor Stăvilă, cercetător științific principal la IPC, în colaborare cu maestrul în artă Mihai Potârniche și fotograful Iurie Foca au editat volumul
Confluenţe. Artele plastice din Republica Moldova.
Cartea prezintă, în linii generale, arta creată în spațiul dintre Nistru și Prut din primul deceniu postbelic până în prezent. De fapt, autorii volumului au intenționat să elaboreze o sinteză a artelor plastice de la noi similară cu cea din domeniul literaturii, până acum fiind editate câteva colecții de antologii ce înglobează literatura din Basarabia din secolul XX și începutul secolului XXI.
Culegerea include opere reprezentative ale artiștilor plastici basarabeni din toate domeniile: pictură, sculptură, arte decorative, grafică, îmbinând, în totalitatea lor, elemente ale tradiționalismului cu cele ale modernismului.
Volumul este conceput asemeni unui film în care nu e loc pentru remontarea cadrelor, privitorul fiind determinat să-l urmărească în ansamblu, în continuă desfășurare, fără a fi smulse din context creaţiile de conjunctură care erau considerate cândva opera de cult.
Autorii cărții au dat o minimă informaţie biografică pentru autorii selectaţi, în ideea de a oferi cât mai mult spaţiu lucrărilor care îi reprezintă cu succes prin artistismul și originalitatea lor. Asemeni unei mașini a timpului, suita de viziuni artistice recreează imagistic epoca, oferindu-ne o posibilitate reală de a recapitula cei peste 75 de ani de existență a artei contemporane în spațiul actual al Republicii Moldova.

Confluences. Fine arts of the Republic of Moldova summarizes the art which has been created in the space between the Dniester and the Prut from the first post-war decade to the present day. In fact, the authors of this volume have intended to develop a synthesis of the fine arts in our country, one which should be similar to that in the field of literature as several
collections and anthologies encompassing the literature of Bessarabia in the 20th and early 21st centuries have been edited so far.
This collection includes representative works of Bessarabian plastic artists from all fields: painting, sculpture, decorative arts, graphics, which combine, in their entirety, elements of traditionalism with those of modernism. The volume is conceived as a film in which there is no room to reassemble the frames and the viewer has to watch it in progress, as a whole, and the creative junctures, which had once been considered cult hits, were not taken out of their context.
Minimum biographical information has been given about the selected authors as it was our intention to render as much space as possible to the works that successfully represent their artistic expression and originality. Like in a time machine, the sequence of artistic visions recreates the era in images and offers us a real opportunity to review the more than 75 years of contemporary art in the current space of the Republic of Moldova.
