Pe parcursul anilor de activitate P. Stoianov a publicat numeroase lucr\u0103ri \u015ftiin\u0163ifice, inclusiv trei monografii. Totodat\u0103 \u00een baza crea\u0163iilor muzicii populare savantul a publicat un \u015fir de studii \u015fi materiale: \u201eC\u00e2ntece populare moldovene\u015fti\u201d, \u201e500 melodii de jocuri din Moldova\u201d, \u201eC\u00e2ntece \u015fi melodii de jocuri populare moldovene\u015fti\u201d \u015f. a. \u00cen aceste lucr\u0103ri savantul pentru prima dat\u0103 a elaborat unele aspecte teoretice morfologice ale melosului moldovenesc, a contribuit esen\u0163ial la popularizarea muzicii moldovene\u015fti \u015fi bulg\u0103re\u015fti.
